GLASSBORO, NJ – Due to the weather forecast, the NJAC Women's Lacrosse Championship game has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 8, as second-seeded Rowan will take on top-seeded TCNJ at 1 p.m. at the TCNJ Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.
The Profs (10-7) head into the final riding a six-game winning streak and owning the second seed in the tournament by way of a 5-1 conference record.
Rowan is making its third appearance in the conference final in the last four years that the tournament has been held and is seeking its first NJAC title since 2010.
Leading the way for Rowan is NJAC Rookie of the Year
Molly Green and All-NJAC performers
Elise Cohan,
Ashley Lechliter,
Gianna Rusk and
Julianna Corson. Lechliter and Cohan top the team in scoring with 62 points and 57 points, respectively, while the pair are tied for the team lead in goals with 46.
Green posted 32 goals and 15 assists in her first season while Corson is third on the team in scoring with 34 goals and 18 assists. Rusk is the cornerstone of the defense that has allowed just 40 goals during the six-game winning streak.
The NJAC champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, with the selections being announced on Monday, May 9.
