GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan will be making its 15th appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship as the Profs take on Methodist in a first-round matchup on Saturday in an 11 a.m. start. The game will be played at Virginia Wesleyan.

Saturday's other game features the host Marlins squaring off with Puget Sound. The winners will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a berth to the third round at stake.

The 23rd-ranked Profs (13-0-4) enter the tournament after capturing the NJAC Championship with a 2-1 victory at Montclair State for its fourth conference title in program history. Rowan features the 2022 NJAC Defensive Player of the Year in Emma DeMaise and the NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year in Calista Burke. The duo have anchored a defense that has yielded just three goals in 17 games this season for a 0.24 goals against average. Burke leads the conference with 13 shutouts with a .942 save percentage and a 0.18 GAA. Senior Nina Carlson and freshman Olivia Giordano pace the offense with nine goals scored each.

The Monarchs (16-2-1) punched its ticket to the tournament after winning the USA South Conference Championship for the third time in program history with a 3-1 win over Southern Virginia. It is the 12th all-time appearance for Methodist in the national tournament. The Methodist offense is led by a pair of upperclassmen in junior Corrine Shovlain, the 2022 USA South Player of the Year, with 12 goals & four assists and senior Tatiana Lourenco-Shiber with 10 goals and eight assists. In net, senior Mary Newman leads the team with 12-1 goalie record and a 0.73 GAA.

This is the first meeting between the two schools.
