GLASSBORO, NJ --
Angela Oliveto and
Sara Wiedeman each scored helping #4 Rowan take down Stockton, 2-0, Wednesday evening in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest.
The team, who already added to its best start in program history (12-0, 7-0 NJAC), also tied its longest consecutive wins in a season mark at 12 games.
Less than five minutes into the game, Oliveto knocked in her fifth tally of the season on a nice rabona shot from a pass into the box by
Raven Davies. The Profs pressed on, totaling 18 of its 33 shots in the first 45 minutes, and held that lead until the half.
Wiedeman added some insurance in the 72nd minute as the senior put home a shot on a free kick just outside the box and over a multi-person wall. The goal is her team-leading ninth this year.
Stockton goalie Tori Vliet hit a career high in saves with 14 for the Ospreys (8-3-3, 5-2 NJAC). Prof keeper
Enya Carthy made two stops, including a tough angle shot with seconds to play in the final half for her sixth and team's ninth shutout.
Rowan can lock up the top seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament with a win on Friday as Rutgers-Newark visits on Senior Night. Game time is slated for 6 p.m. with senior day ceremonies at 5:45 p.m.
