AMHERST, MA – The Rowan University women's basketball team will play the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament at Amherst College.
 
The NJAC champion Profs are 24-3 overall while the Mariners have a 23-4 record. Framingham State University (22-5) will meet Amherst (22-4) in the other first-round game at 7 p.m with the winners advancing to the second round on Saturday, March 7 at 6 p.m.  
 
The NCAA sectionals are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, at campus sites. The NCAA Championship Tournament continues at the Capital Center Performance Area in Columbus, OH, with the semifinals on Friday, March 20 and the championship set for Saturday, March 21.
