GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's basketball team plays Montclair State University in the championship of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Esby Gym.
The Profs (23-3) are the top seed in the conference postseason and the Red Hawks (21-5) are seeded second. In the semifinals, Rowan defeated the fourth seed The College of New Jersey, 82-62 on Tuesday (Feb. 25). Montclair State had a 57-45 victory over the sixth seed New Jersey City University. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children, students and senior citizens. Athletic passes and IDs are not accepted for NJAC tournaments. Rowan athletics will provide free tickets for the first 100 students with ID.
During the regular season, Rowan split with Montclair State, falling 70-59 on the road and winning, 67-65 at home. The Profs finished with a 16-2 record in the conference. Rowan has won the NJAC title six times with the last one in 1998-99. The Profs and Red Hawks played for the conference championship in 2015-16. Montclair State won 68-62 over the visiting Profs.
This week, Rowan is ranked second in the NCAA Atlantic Region. It is the final ranking before the selection show on Monday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m. on ncaa.com. The Profs moved up to 20

Guard
Grace Marshall is the scoring leader with 13.9 points per game (ppg). She is first on the team with 48 three-pointers. The sophomore is first in the conference in free throw percentage (.896), third in three-pointers made (2.3), fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.350) and fifth in steals (2.6).
Guard
Nicole Mallard is second on the team in scoring (13.5) and rebounding (6.4). She is first in assists (66) and steals (82). Her 3.2 steals per game leads the NJAC. Mallard and Marshall were named to the NJAC All-Conference second team.
Center
Ayanna Johnson is in the conference's top spot in rebounds (13.2) and blocks (3.5). She is ranked second in total blocks in Division III and fourth in rebounds. Johnson was chosen the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference first team.
Forward Elianna Santana is contributing with 11.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in her first season. She was an NJAC All-Conference honorable mention selection. Guards
Savanna Holt and
Alexis Kriley are averaging 9.7 and 9.2 ppg respectively. Holt has made 43 three-pointers. In the NJAC, she is second in three-point field goal percentage (.361), sixth in field goal percentage (.361) and eighth in three-pointers made (1.7). Kriley has a .850 free throw percentage, which is second in the conference. Guard
Kennedy Brown is adding 8.9 points per game. She has collected 58 assists and 39 steals.
In the conference team stats, Rowan is the leader in scoring offense (79.2), scoring margin (+15.7), free throw percentage (.688), rebounds (54.0), blocks (6.2) and steals (14.3). The Profs are second in three-point field goal percentage (.287), rebound margin (+9.2) and assists (14.3).
