Junior baseball player
Trip McCaffrey is the subject of this edition of "Know Your Profs". McCaffrey was the starting centerfielder in all six games of the shortened 2020 season, having transferred to Rowan from UMass-Lowell. At the time of the season's cancellation, he was batting .333 with two doubles and a triple as the Profs were 6-0.
What was the biggest factor that led you to choose Rowan?
The biggest factors that led me to transfer to Rowan were the academics and the success of the baseball program over the past years. Coach Dickson and the team made me feel welcome instantly.

What is your most memorable moment in sports, whether at Rowan or before?
My most memorable moment in sports was my first college start at Wake Forest as a freshman. That was an unforgettable moment.Â

If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be and why?
If I could play any other sport in college I would choose basketball, it has always been my second favorite sport.Â

Who was your biggest role model growing up?
My biggest role model has always been my dad. He helped shape me into the man I am today.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Hawaii. I've wanted to go there my whole life, but never have made the trip.

What's your choice – Netflix, YouTube, Cable TV? Favorite show?
I always go with Prime video, my favorite show on there is the Sopranos. I've watched it three times all the way through. Â

Who is your favorite professional athlete or team?
I root for all of the Philadelphia teams, but I would have to say my favorite is the Eagles.

My favorite follow on social media has to be Dave Portnoy.

Which do you prefer – online classes or in person?
I prefer online classes. I like being able to get all of my work done from home without any distractions.Â

What is your major at Rowan and what are your career aspirations?
My major is Law and Justice, but my career aspirations are actually in Commercial Real Estate.

What's the best thing about being a Prof?
The best thing about being a Prof is being a part of a great group of guys that all want to win with the best coaching staff around to help us get there.Â
