rd-ranked Rowan University women's lacrosse team had a 13-11 victory at the University of Scranton on Tuesday night.
It was the fifth win in a row for the Profs (6-1). The Royals have a 5-5 record. Attack
Maddie Bray (jr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) sparked Rowan with five goals. Defender/midfielder
Taylor Gretz (jr. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) netted three goals while attack
Ashley Lechliter (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) scored twice. Gretz also picked up five ground balls.

Attack Jill Henson (fr. Baldwinsville, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) led the Royals with four goals. Midfielder Kate Calabro (fr. Seaford, NY/Kellenberg Mem.) potted three goals and controlled five draws while attack Katie Rogers (jr. Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) tallied one goal and two assists.
Attack/midfielder Kaitlyn Murphy (jr. Somers, NY/North Salem), attack Elena Gallo (jr. East Meadow, NY/Kellenberg Mem.) and midfielder Kailyn Angelo (sr. West Chester, PA/Villa Maria Academy) hit the net one time apiece. Goalie Erin Putnam (so. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks S.) stopped 17 shots.
The Profs got off to a fast start, recording four of the first five goals for a 4-1 lead at 16:54. Bray registered two goals and Doyle and Gretz each hit the cage. Calabro scored (16:31) to make it a two-goal game (4-2). Rowan increased the advantage to 7-2 with markers by Lechliter (14:32), Gretz (10:09) and Kramer (8:46). Scranton stormed back with the last four goals of the half. Henson produced two goals and Calabro and Henson each scored one time.
Angelo found the cage to begin the second period and tie the score at seven (29:27). The Profs recovered and Bray posted three consecutive goals to put Rowan back on top, 10-7 (23:21). Henson (21:46) and Rogers (19:37) cut the Royals' deficit to one (10-9). The Profs had an 11-10 lead after Murphy's tally (14:24). Gretz (10:09) and Lechliter (8:29) gave Rowan a three-goal cushion (13-10). Calabro recorded the final goal with 6:30 on the clock. Horner was forced to make one save in the closing minutes.
The Profs begin conference play at Kean University on Saturday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m.
