MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated conference opponent Ramapo College, 175-79 on Saturday.
The Profs won the 200 medley (1:52.21) and 200 freestyle (1:42.29) relays.
Alex Bambrick (jr. Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell),
Emily Kopchick (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Abigail Brous (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) and
Miranda Coughlan (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were on the medley relay. The free relay included Coughlan,
Antonia Simunek (so. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway),
Elizabeth O'Brien (so. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Reg.) and Brous.
Rowan has a 5-1 record with a 4-0 conference mark. Coughlan took first place in the 200 (2:02.98) and 100 (55.23) freestyles. Simunek was first (26.46) in the 50 free.
Brous was the winner in the 100 backstroke (1:01.31) and 100 butterfly (1:01.08).
Carlee Timmins (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) swam 10:48.97 in the 1000 freestyle for first place. She also took first (5:20.45) in the 500 free. Kopchick came in first (1:10.45) in the 100 breaststroke.
Bailey Howarth (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) captured first place (2:31.00) in the 200 breaststroke.
Bambrick swam a winning time of 2:13.16 in the 200 backstroke. In the 100 backstroke, Bambrick finished second (1:01.59) and O'Brien was fourth (1:06.16). O'Brien had a second place (2:17.91) in the 200 backstroke.
Emily LaBenski (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford Twp.) came in first (2:19.38) in the 200 individual medley and second (11:30.33) in the 1000 freestyle.
Gabby Gligor (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) took second (26.55) in the 50 free and
Daria Mnich (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) was third (26.88).
Annalise Giuliano (fr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) finished second (2:06.14) in the 200 free.
Megan Miller (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had a second place (1:11.98) in the 100 breaststroke.
Natalie Smith (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) touched second (2:19.66) in the 200 butterfly followed by
Veronica Alferez (so. Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Mem.), third (2:20.16) and
Jordan Jones (fr. Somerset, NJ/Homeschooled), fourth (2:22.08). Alferez was fourth (2:20.36) in the 200 backstroke.
Kylie Salerno (fr. Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) came in second (58.44) in the 100 free.
