th-ranked Rowan University men's soccer team dominated play en route to a 7-0 victory over visiting Albright College on Wednesday.
The Profs up their record to 2-1 while the Lions are 1-2 overall.
Rowan outshot Albright 29-1, tallied four goals in the first half and put up three markers in the second period. Forward
Ryan Campbell (jr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) led the way with four goals, one short of the school record. Back
Matt Fahey (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and midfielder
Jake Connors (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) each recorded one goal and one assist. It was Fahey's first collegiate tally.
Midfielder
Kevin Pereira (jr. Allentown, NJ/Allentown) hit the back of the net one time. Forward
Matt Hendrickson (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and back
Nick Schlageter (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) produced two assists apiece while midfielder
Tyler Logar (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) had one helper.
Goalkeepers
Erik Checkur (jr. Wantage, NJ/High Point Reg.) and
Kyle Dennis (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) each played a half to share the clean sheet. Checkur made one save. Lions' goalies Brendan Hanratty (fr. Warminster, PA/William Tennent) and Adam Giurlando (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) were in the cage for 61:00 and 29:00 respectively. Hanratty stopped five shots and Giurlando made two saves.
The Profs face Christopher Newport University in the Cialella Soccer Classic at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.
