#3 Men's Soccer Plays to a 2-2 Draw with #15 Montclair State after Vilaboy's Late-Game Heroics

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Evan Vilaboy scored twice and his goal with 30 seconds remaining gave #3 Rowan a 2-2 tie with #19 Montclair State in an NJAC men's soccer showdown. The late goal preserved Rowan's unbeaten record at 9-0-3 and 3-0-2 in the conference.

With the clock winding down, the Profs had one last chance. Tanner Grozinski had the ball and cut back to the edge of the box, sending the ball to the far side and DJ Mosley headed it to Vilaboy, who beat MSU keeper Pierre Soumeillant to the lower left for his team-best ninth goal of the year.

Vilaboy notched his first goal at 62:41 on a penalty kick that was awarded when Luke McNamee was tripped in the box.

Montclair State's Tomas Monteiro scored just seven minutes into the contest putting the Red Hawks ahead, 1-0, until the second half.

After Vilaboy had tied it, the Red Hawks were awarded a penalty kick and Sebastian Lapczynski beat Rowan's Mike Moore to give the home team a 2-1 lead.

Montclair State (11-2-2; 3-0-2) outshot Rowan, 9-4, but the teams each had three shots on goal. Moore made one save on the evening and it was the first time all year that he allowed more than one goal.

The Profs are back at home on the weekend, hosting Kean on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
