Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Franklin & Marshall College field hockey team edged Rowan University, 2-1 in two overtimes on Sunday.
Forward Sydney Cole (sr. Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) scored the game-winner with 2:04 left in the second 15-minute overtime. Cole hit the right side of the cage after a cross from forward Erin Coverdale (so. Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen).
The Diplomats are 2-0 on the season and they are ranked ninth in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Coaches Poll. The Profs have a 0-2 record.
Midfielder Nicole Bodo (jr. Wayne, PA/Conestoga) put F&M ahead 1-0 on a penalty corner at the 58 second mark. She deflected in a shot by back Sarah Schannauer (sr. Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) who received the corner on the top of the circle. Forward Emily Nagle (jr. Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) had taken the penalty corner.

Carly DeMarco (sr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) compiled 15 saves. For the Diplomats, Ilianna Santangelo (jr. Sudbury, MA/Saint Marks) made six saves.
Next, Rowan travels to Eastern University on Wednesday, Sept. 6 for a 4 p.m. game. The Profs are home against Catholic University on Saturday, Sept. 9 at noon.
