COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Rowan field hockey's Tess Herman and Gracie Merrick have been named to the 2025 NFHCA Division III All-Region IV First Team with Mia Foti, Sydney Kowalczyk and Aurelia McManis receiving selection to the All-Region Second Team. The 2025 NFHCA Division III All-Region teams, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey, are separated into six regions and each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first team and second teams.
Herman receives All-Region honors for the fourth season, becoming just the second player in Rowan history to do so, matching All-American Kristiina Castagnola (2018-22). Herman also earns selection to the All-Region First Team for the third time, matching Castagnola, Rachel Galante (2016-18), Marisa Marini (2013-15) and Michelle Andre (1995-97) for that accomplishment.
In 2025, Herman was named the NJAC's Defensive Player of the Year, becoming Rowan's first two-time recipient of the award. She earned selection to the All-NJAC First Team for the third consecutive year. The Profs' team co-captain, she led the Rowan defense that limited its foes to 1.77 goals per game. She also tallied a career-high 13 points, with three goals and seven assists.
Merrick earns selection to the All-Region Team for the first time in her two seasons with the Profs. The junior recorded a personal-best 11 points this year with three goals and five assists, and was named to the All-NJAC First Team, for her second year earning All-Conference honors.
Foti, a sophomore, became an All-Region and All-Conference honoree for the first time this season, as a choice to the All-NJAC First Team. She ranked second on the team by recording a career-high 10 goals and is credited with two game-winning goals.
Kowalczyk made an impact in her first season at Rowan, being named the NJAC Rookie of the Year and earning a spot on the All-Conference First Team. The midfielder led the conference in goals with 17 while totaling 39 points, which are the most by a Rowan freshman since 2016.
McManis also earns her first All-Region honor, to go along with her first selection to the All-NJAC First Team. The junior was a key defender for the Profs, which recorded six shutouts on the year and held a decisive 74-39 advantage in goals scored. She also contributed six assists while scoring one goal.
Rowan (16-6) was nationally-ranked all season long and won its fifth consecutive NJAC Championship. The #13 Profs also made their seventh straight appearance in the NCAA Championship.
