Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out Stevenson University, 2-0 on Wednesday night.
 
Forward Rachel Galante (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) blasted a shot from 10 yards into the right side of the cage at 4:03 for the first goal.  Midfielder/forward Julie Johnson (jr. Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) had the assist.  Back Dayna DeVincentz (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) knocked in a loose ball (19:53) for the second tally.  The ball came off the stick of  Stevenson back Marissa Hoffman (jr. Elizabethtown, PA/Lower Dauphin) who recorded a defensive save.
 
The Profs have a 5-3 record while the Mustangs are 4-2 overall.  Goalie Carly DeMarco (sr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) made three saves for her second shutout this year.  For Stevenson, goalie Maia Harper (jr. Walkersville, MD/Walkersville) played 20:29 and had one save.  Goalie Kelsey Eure (so. Edgewater, MD/South River) turned away six shots in 49:31.
 
Next week, Rowan travels to Wesley College on Wednesday, Sept. 20 for a 7 p.m. contest.
