Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team defeated Moravian College, 4-3 in the final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday.
The Greyhounds (10-16) had the tying run at third base in the ninth inning but right-hander
Sam Nocito (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) recorded a strikeout on a 3-2 count to end the contest. It was his second save. Righty
Victor Lebron (so. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) recorded his first collegiate win for the Profs (19-9). He threw two perfect innings in relief and registered three strikeouts. Left-hander Ryan Kahn (jr. Bayonne, NJ/Union Catholic) took the loss (2-4).

Shane Brown (sr. Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) went four-for-five and scored one run. Left fielder
Monny Strickland (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and catcher
Steven Hewa (so. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) each had two hits and one RBI. Strickland also scored a run. Third baseman
Matt Jolly (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and first baseman
Dillon Mendel (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) drove in one run apiece. Designated hitter
Frank Rose (fr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) and Jolly each touched the plate one time.
Moravian first baseman Joey Maker (jr. Newton, NJ/Newton) and second baseman Tim Heard (so. Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) tallied two hits apiece. Third baseman/pitcher Evan Kulig (so. Allentown, NJ/Salisbury) and Heard each had a double. Center fielder Austin Markowski (so. Neshanic Station, NJ/Somerville) and Maker knocked in one run apiece. Shortstop Matt Stalter (so. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central), Markowski and Kulig all scored one run.
Rowan scored all four of their runs in the fifth. Brown led off the frame with a base hit. Rose had a one-out single to put runners at first and second. Jolly followed with a base knock to right field and Brown came home. Strickland singled through the left side and Rose scored. Jolly touched the plate on Hewa's base hit and Mendel brought home Strickland with a sacrifice fly.
The Greyhounds put across three runs in the eighth. Markowski sent a one-out single through the left side to score Stalter. Kulig doubled to left center and there were runners on second and third. Markowski came home on a wild pitch and Kulig followed on Maker's base hit.
The Profs visit conference rival Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, April 13 at 3:30 p.m.
