Box Score HOBOKEN, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-8 decision at Stevens Institute of Technology on Monday.
The Profs are 1-1 on the season while the Ducks are undefeated with a 3-0 mark.
Attack Kyra Bednarski (fr. Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led Stevens with four goals. Midfielder Kathleen Kalbian (sr. Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) and attack Cami Santor (jr. Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) each tallied two goals and one assist. Attack Mariel Haubrich (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Eastern Reg.) totaled three assists. Attack Laura Roberts (sr. West Hartford, CT/Conard) and midfielder Emily Shanklin (fr. Berkley, MI/Marian) scored two times apiece. Goalkeeper Stephanie Schnelzer (jr. Carmel, IN/Carmel) stopped 14 shots for the win.

Jess Havers (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) netted four goals. Attack
Megan Donnelly (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) hit the back of the cage twice while attacks
Maddie Bray (so. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) and
Danielle Hubbs (sr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) had one goal apiece. Goalie
Erin Horner (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) made six saves.
Stevens opened the game with three straight goals. Roberts (29:33), Bednarski (22:42) and Santor (21:20) all found the net. Hubbs put the Profs on the board with 16:23 on the clock. Bednarski scored at 14:21 and Shanklin found the twine at 13:52 and the Ducks were ahead 5-1. Havers notched three tallies in a row in the final 10 minutes to get Rowan within one (5-4) at halftime. Two of the three were free position goals.
In the second period, Shanklin registered a marker at 29:02. Bednarski scored on a free position shot and Stevens took a 7-4 lead (26:20). Donnelly beat the goalkeeper (24:55) and Bray converted a free position attempt (23:50) to cut the deficit to one (7-6). The Ducks followed with three consecutive goals for a 10-6 advantage (14:12). Havers produced her fourth tally with 9:42 remaining. Bednarski (5:35) and Kalbian (3:39) each found the cage and the score was 12-7. Donnelly's goal at 1:27 ended the scoring.
