Box Score YORK, PA – The Rowan University baseball team scored four runs in the first inning en route to an 8-4 win at York College on Sunday.
Left fielder

Joe Sadler (jr. Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) each contributed with three hits (four at bats), one RBI and two runs. Third baseman
Matt Jolly (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) posted two doubles, two RBIs and one run. Right fielder
Monny Strickland (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) totaled three RBIs and two hits.
Designated hitter
Frank Rose (fr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) added two hits and had one double. Second baseman
Alex Kokos (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) chipped in with two hits and two runs. Center fielder
Shane Brown (sr. Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) scored one run.
Right-hander
Brad Machinski (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) was the winning pitcher. He (3-1) threw eight innings and scattered eight hits. Machinski gave up three runs, two earned. Righty
Eric Shugars (so. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) was on the mound for the final inning. Pitcher Andrew Ross (fr. Sandy Hook, CT/Newtown) took the loss (1-1).
The Profs are 12-6 on the season while the Spartans are 9-5 overall. For York, first baseman Christian Bilan (jr. Lumberton, NJ/Camden Catholic) had three hits in five at bats, one RBI and one run. Shortstop Collin Crowell (jr. Stewartstown, PA/Kennard-Dale) registered two hits and one run. Right fielder Seth Brosius (jr. Magnolia, DE/Caesar Rodney), center fielder Grant Oberholtzer (so. Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) and left fielder Patrick Clement (jr. York, PA/York Catholic) all produced one RBI.
In the first inning, Sadler plated Kokos with a single through the right side. Jolly doubled down the right field line, scoring Brown and Clapper. Sadler came home on a wild pitch. Clapper had a RBI single in the top of the second for a 5-0 lead. York got on the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom half. Oberholtzer singled home Bilan while Clement grounded out and third baseman Michael Moore (sr. East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) scored.
The Profs added two more runs in the fifth inning and York had one. Strickland knocked in Sadler and Jolly with a single to right center. Second baseman Zach Hossler (jr. Jefferson, MD/Brunswick) touched home plate on a base hit by Bilan. Both teams scored one run in the ninth. Strickland had a RBI single in the top half and Brosius singled in a run in the bottom.
