Box Score ASTON, PA – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team never trailed in a 16-5 victory at Neumann University on Wednesday.
It was the third win in a row for the Profs (4-2). The Knights drop to 0-6.
Attack
Megan Donnelly (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) led Rowan with three goals and two assists. Defender/midfielder
Liz Kramer (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) tallied two goals, two assists and four ground balls. Attack
Jess Havers (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) found the net four times. Attack
Danielle Hubbs (sr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) registered two goals and one assist while attack
Kim Doyle (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) scored twice. Hubbs also picked up four ground balls.
Attacks
Maddie Bray (so. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee),
Ali Herbert (sr. Little Egg Harbor, NJ/Pinelands Reg.) and
Julia Stumpf (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) contributed with one goal apiece. Defender/midfielder
Taylor Gretz (so. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) and midfielder
Mikala Gillespie (so. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) each notched an assist. Goalkeeper
Erin Horner (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) made four saves.
Neumann midfielders Kaitlyn Conrad (so. Media, PA/Penncrest) and Shae Risley (sr. Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) produced two goals apiece. Midfielder Brittany Cassidy (so. Aston, PA/Sun Valley) hit the cage one time. Goalie Gabby Curry (so. Maple Shade, NJ/Camden Catholic) stopped 11 shots.
The Profs scored the first five goals of the game. Donnelly began the scoring then Hubbs had two tallies in a row. Kramer and Doyle each had a marker and Rowan had a 5-0 lead with 13:34 on the clock. Conrad produced both of her goals in succession at 10:51 and 9:09. The Profs then scored four in a row for a 9-2 advantage (4:06). Cassidy's goal at 3:40 was the last tally of the half.
Rowan went on a 6-0 run to begin the second half. Havers had three of the goals and the run ended at 9:04. Risley's two markers made the score 15-5 at the 3:19 mark. Stumpf hit the net with 48 seconds remaining to end the contest.
The Profs begin a three-game home stand on Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. against Roanoke College.
