Box Score AUBURNDALE, FL – The Rowan University baseball team dropped a 7-6 decision to UMass Boston in 11 innings at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Saturday.
Right fielder Danny Brown led off the bottom of the 11
th with a single through the right side. He advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by center fielder Sal Frosceno. Left fielder Nick Herzog drove Brown in with a base hit to left for the walk-off victory.
The Beacons improve to 3-1. Herzog ended the game with two RBIs and a run scored. Third baseman Kyle Boudrias and catcher Anthony Searles knocked in one run apiece. Frosceno crossed the plate twice while designated hitter Dan Mantoni, shortstop Eddie Riley, Boudrias and Brown each scored one time. Mantoni and Frosceno each hit a double. Right-hander Bobby Tramondozzi was the winning pitcher (1-0). He went the final two frames and allowed one hit while striking out four.

Andrew Cohen (sr. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) suffered the loss (0-1).
Rose put Rowan on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the second. Hewa came home on the play. The Profs plated three runs in the third. Golla had a lead-off double and Leydon followed with a single. Brown reached first with a bunt and Golla scored. Leydon touched home on an error and Hewa drove in Brown with a single.
UMass Boston tied the score with four runs in the fifth. Frosceno scored on a wild pitch, Boudrias and Searles registered back-to-back RBI singles and Boudrias came home on a wild pitch. The Beacons took a 6-4 lead in the sixth. Frosceno tallied a run on an error and Herzog's sacrifice fly plated Riley. Rowan evened the score in the seventh. Golla came home on a double play and Strickland sent a base hit to right center to plate Jolly.
The Profs play a doubleheader against Ripon College on Sunday, March 12 at 2:45 p.m.
