Box Score MAHWAH, NJ – The Ramapo College men's basketball team won 110-101 over Rowan University in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament on Tuesday night.
The Roadrunners (24-2) are the top seed in the conference tournament and host the third seed New Jersey City University (21-6) on Friday, Feb. 24 in the championship. NJCU defeated number two The College of New Jersey, 77-69 in the semifinals. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
The Profs were seeded fourth and they end the season with a 17-10 record. Rowan advanced to the semifinals with an 81-69 victory against the fifth seed Montclair State University.
Forward Christopher Moseley (jr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) paced the Roadrunners with a game-high 24 points and he also grabbed 10 rebounds. Forward Sultan Aminu (sr. Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) totaled 20 points and nine boards. Forward Thomas Bonacum (jr. Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Guard Patrick Peterson (fr. Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) and forward Nick Stanek (jr. Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) came off the bench and scored 18 and 16 points respectively. Guard Josh Ford (jr. Fort Lee, NJ/Fort Lee) dished five assists and added 11 points.

Rob DePersia (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) produced 18 points and six assists. Forward Tomas Malmsjö (fr. Malmo, Sweden/Malmö Idrottsgymnasium) registered 11 points while forwards
Shawn Wilson (sr. Pleasantville, NJ/Pleasantville) and
Jordan Sintras (fr. Sydney, Australia/St. Ignatius' College, Riverview) had nine apiece.
The Roadrunners started the second half with a 10-7 run to tie the score at 57 (16:15). Four different players contributed in the surge. They scored 12 of the next 14 points to lead 69-59 (13:26). Peterson led the way with six points, Aminu added four and Moseley chipped in with two. Stanek had a jumper and foul shot (11:13), which made the score 76-62. Bonacum put Ramapo ahead by 19 (89-70) with two free throws at the 7:27 mark. Ford's two shots at the charity stripe made the score 93-74 (5:47).
The Profs rallied and cut the deficit to six points (101-95) with 1:01 left. They started with an 11-2 surge and trailed by 10 (95-85) at 2:40. Sintras had six of the 11 points with two threes. Stanek hit a jump shot and the score was 97-85 (2:10). Rowan then used a 10-4 spurt to pull within six (101-95). The Roadrunners went back up by 10 (105-95) after two foul shots by Peterson (0:33). With 12 seconds left,
Nick DePersia drilled a three-pointer and the Profs were down by six (107-101). Guard James Long (jr. Matawan, NJ/St. Joseph's (Metuchen)) sealed the victory with three free throws to end the game.
There were five ties and eight lead changes in the first half. Aminu made two foul shots (17:21), which knotted the score at eight.
Nick DePersia's layup gave the Profs a two-point advantage (10-8) at 16:33. Moseley hit a jumper (16:14) and the game was even at 10.
Nick DePersia's three-pointer put Rowan ahead 13-10 (16:03). The Roadrunners trailed until Ford tied the score at 16 with a basket (14:13). Rowan followed with seven straight points to lead 23-16 (12:36). Guard

Moseley scored six unanswered points to cut the deficit to one (23-22) with 10:21 on the clock. He sank a three (9:22) for the fourth tie on the night (25-25). Ramapo had a six-point advantage (34-28) after a 9-3 spurt that ended (7:01) with two points at the line by Long. The Profs were down by two (36-34) at 5:40 with two free throws by
Nick DePersia. Bonacum's three and Aminu's jumper increased the Roadrunners lead to seven (47-40) with 2:39 remaining. Rowan followed with 10 straight points to go ahead 50-47 at the break.
