Taz Cantey has been named the Small College Player of the Year by the Albert Carino Boys Basketball Club of South Jersey and will be honored at the organization's annual banquet this evening, April 1, in Cherry Hill.
Cantey closed out his career with the Profs by being named to the 2026 All-NJAC Second Team, marking his first All-Conference honor. He led Rowan in scoring with 18.2 points per game in conference contests while averaging 17.5 points in all games. The senior guard shot 48.3 percent from the field, grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game and led the squad in assists with a 3.3 average.
Cantey recorded his 1,000th career point against Montclair State and finished his college career with a total of 1,193 points at two schools (Rowan, Holy Family). This past season, he hit for double figures in all but one game and recorded 20-plus points in 10 contests.
He ends his career averaging 15.2 points per game in two seasons at Rowan, while converting 48.8 of his field-goal attempts.
