KANSAS CITY, MO – Rowan's Skip Burton, Chris McCarron and Michael Pirone have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2025-26 Honors Court, while the Profs' men's basketball program is one of the recipients of the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards.
 
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
 
Burton, a senior pre-business major, played in three games before suffering a season-ending injury. In his junior year, Burton played in 14 games, making two starts and connected on 70.8 percent from the foul line.
 
McCarron saw action in 23 games, making three starts during the 2025-26 season. The senior finance major scored in double figures three times and handed out a total of 25 assists while contributing 4.3 points per game.  
 
In his first season at Rowan, Pirone tallied double figures eight times and averaged 7.5 points per game. The junior advertising major played in all 27 games, making eight starts.
 
Over 2,300 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2025-26. A full list of Honors Court recipients and Team Academic Excellence Awards can be found at NABC.com.

Rowan will take to the court next season under the guidance of first-year head coach Rob DePersia '19, who was named the program's 14th head coach in April. DePersia returns to Glassboro after working for seven years at the Division I level, including five at Villanova. A four-year starter and three-year captain for the Profs from 2015 to 2019, DePersia earned All-NJAC Honorable Mention in 2017 and 2019 and played a key role in the Profs' winning the 2019 NJAC Championship.
