Jess Havers scored with four-seconds on the clock, giving the women's lacrosse team a 14-13 come from behind victory over Kean University on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs trailed 13-12 with 1:03 remaining in the second half. Defender/midfielder
Kelly O'Brien (jr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) won the draw and midfielder Mikala Gillepsie (fr. Woodbine, NJ/Ocean City) scored, tying the game at 13 (59:36). O'Brien controlled the ensuing draw and Gillespie found Havers (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) who beat the goalie for the game-winner.
Rowan is 9-5 overall and 3-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Kean is 12-3 on the season and 2-2 in the conference. Profs' goalie
Erin Horner (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) stopped eight shots and Cougars' goalie Nikki Apostolopoulos (so. Yonkers, NY/The Ursuline School) made 12 saves.

For Kean, midfielder Brittany Ballack (so. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) contributed with three goals and one assist. Midfielder Jordan Blanda (sr. Neptune, NJ/Neptune) scored four times. Attack Emily Stasuk (so. Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) chipped in with three goals. Attacks Samantha Gnapp (sr. Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) and Meghan Tillger (fr. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) each had one goal and one assist. Attack Krista LaMaina (so. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) added one goal and attack Morgan Graham (fr. Lake Grove, NY/Ward Melville) had one assist.
The Profs and Cougars traded goals early on and the contest was tied at two with 24:42 to play in the first half. Kean tallied the next two goals, one each by Blanda (6:19) and Tilger (8:34) for a 4-2 lead. Rowan responded with scores by Herbert (8:51) and Gretz (12:23) to tie the game at four. Blanda (12:24) and Stasuk (14:36) recorded back-to-back goals giving the Cougars a two-goal cushion (6-4). The score was 7-6 after a goal by Herbert (18:25), but Kean tallied two straight for a 9-6 advantage with 5:44 remaining. Herbert hit the back of the net at the 28:07 mark, making the score 9-7 at the break.
The Cougars extended their lead to four (11-7) with 24:07 on the clock in the second half. Rowan scored the next five goals to go out in front 12-11 at the 51:08 mark. Herbert had three goals and Doyle and Donnelly had one apiece. Kean then scored twice, as Ballack tied the game with 1:23 to play and LaMaina put the Cougars ahead (58:57).
