Evan Hughes (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) contributed with two hits (three at bats), one double, one RBI and two runs. Third baseman
Matt Jolly (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) added one hit, one RBI and one run. First baseman
Steven Todd (sr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) had one RBI and center fielder
Shane Brown (jr. Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon Reg.) chipped in with two hits.
Right-hander
Rob Grilli (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) was the winning pitcher. He (2-1) threw 4.2 innings of relief and only allowed three hits. Righty
Brad Machinski (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) pitched the ninth and earned his second save. Greg Mugnier (jr. Abington, PA/Abington) took the loss on the mound. In three innings, he (0-1) gave up four hits and four runs, two earned.
The Lions got on the scoreboard in the first inning. First baseman Anthony Pletscher (sr. Hatfield, PA/North Penn) had a sacrifice fly that scored shortstop Will Faccenda (fr. Holland, PA/Council Rock S.). The Profs took the lead with two runs in the second inning. Hughes walked and later came home on a fielder's choice with Todd at bat. Jolly stole home for the second run. Rowan was ahead 4-1 after two runs in the third. Hughes registered a double to center field, scoring Clapper. Jolly had a single up the middle that sent Hughes home.
