Box Score MAHWAH, NJ – The Ramapo College baseball team shut out Rowan University, 7-0 in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament on Tuesday.
The third-seeded Roadrunners improve to 26-12 while the fourth-seeded Profs are 23-13. Ramapo advances to face the number-two seed Kean University on Friday, May 1 at 5:00 p.m. Rowan's next opponent is the sixth seed The College of New Jersey on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Lions upset the top seed Rutgers-Camden, 9-4 while the Cougars defeated the number-five seed Montclair State University, 3-2. Rutgers-Camden will play Montclair State on Friday at 10:00 a.m. The remainder of the double elimination tournament is at Kean.
Righty Walker Larson (sr. Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) hurled a complete game shutout. He (15-8) allowed eight hits and struck out five. Right-hander

Second baseman Joe Venturino (jr. Barnegat Light, NJ/Monsignor Farrell) went three-for-four with two doubles and two runs scored. Designated hitter Chris Werr (sr. Pequannock, NJ/Pequannock) had two hits (four at bats), one RBI and two runs scored. Center fielder Scott Peschiani (sr. Harriman, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was three-for-five with a double and crossed the plate one time.
Right fielder Robert DeAngelis (so. Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) drove in two runs while first baseman Connor Walsh (fr. Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick), left fielder Rafael Dela Cruz (jr. Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth), left fielder Matthew Chemis (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) and third baseman Brandon Berger (sr. Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) knocked in one apiece. Catcher Ryan Rinsky (jr. North Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) and Walsh both came home one time.
