Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The seventh-ranked Kean University baseball team defeated #22 Rowan University in a pitcher's duel, 1-0 on Thursday.
With two outs in the eighth, center fielder Matt Meleo (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) reached on an error and left fielder Tyler Heisch (so. Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) followed with a RBI triple to right center for the lone run. The Cougars improve to 27-8 and they are 11-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Profs have a 22-10 record with an 11-4 conference mark.
Righty Charles Thielmann (sr. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) hurled a complete game shutout. He (5-2) surrendered 11 hits and struck out six. Right-hander
Ryan Easterday (sr. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) threw all nine innings in the loss. He (4-2) allowed seven hits.
