Box Score YORK, PA – The York College (PA) baseball team won a wild non-conference game over Rowan University, 12-9 on Wednesday.
The Spartans are 13-16 overall while the Profs have a 22-9 record. Right-hander Dan Gurganus (sr. Prince Frederick, MD/Huntingtown) earned the win (2-2). Righty Zach Philippi (sr. Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman) pitched the ninth for his second save. Right-handed pitcher

York third baseman Christian Bilan (fr. Lumberton, NJ/Camden Catholic) went three-for-five with three doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored. Center fielder Logan Countryman (so. Baltimore, MD/Loch Raven) had four hits (five at bats) and scored one time. Designated hitter Sean Mohollen (jr. Rose Valley, PA/Strath Haven) hit a double, totaled three RBIs and came home twice. First baseman Derek Pitzer (sr. York, PA/Dallastown) knocked in two runs while shortstop Collin Crowell (fr. Stewartstown, PA/Kennard-Dale) had one RBI. Left fielder Brad Wenzel (sr. Blandon, PA/Fleetwood Area), Mohollen, Pitzer and Bilan each scored twice.

Stephen Petriello (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) recorded two home runs, five RBIs and two runs scored. Right fielder
Ryan Pavlik (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) was four-for-four with a homer and two RBIs and he touched the plate three times. Designated hitter

There were three lead changes from the seventh inning on. Grimes put the Profs ahead in the first when he scored Kreiger with a single to left center. Petriello blasted a two-run homer in the second and the score was 3-0. In the bottom half, Crowell plated Bilan with a base hit for the Spartans' first run. Pavlik restored a three-run lead with a RBI single in the third, bringing home Oliver. York cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the frame. Mohollen and Pitzer smacked consecutive RBI doubles. Each team recorded a run in the sixth. Pavlik hit a solo shot to right and second baseman J.J. Oleniacz (sr. Great Falls, VA/Langley) came home on an error.
The Spartans gained the advantage with a three-run seventh. Mohollen singled in right fielder Stephen Miele (sr. Allentown, PA/Salisbury) and Bilan brought in Mohollen and Pitzer with a double down the left field line. Petriello blasted a three-run home run in the eighth to put Rowan back ahead, 8-7. Ras added a RBI single for a two-run cushion. However, York tallied five runs in the bottom half to gain the upper hand for good. Countryman scored on Mohollen's groundout, Pitzer registered a RBI single and Bilan drove in two with a double before coming home on a balk.
The Profs host Kean University in a conference game on Thursday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
