Box Score CAMDEN, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team dropped its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game at Rutgers-Camden, 4-2 on Thursday.
The Profs have a 12-6 record and they are 2-1 in the conference. The Scarlet Raptors are 7-8 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC. Left-hander Andrew Gottstein (jr. Bloomsburg, PA/Bloomsburg) earned the win in relief. He (1-1) threw 2.1 innings and allowed just one hit. Righty Kyle Gaff (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) recorded the final out for his third save. Right-handed pitcher
Johnny Dunn (sr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) took the loss (0-2). He lasted 6.1 innings and gave up four runs on six hits.
First baseman Connor Hall (sr. Delran, NJ/Delran) was two-for-four with a RBI and one run scored. Shortstop Pedro Perez (so. Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) recorded a two-run homer. Second baseman Matthew McElhatton (jr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Camden Catholic) drove in one run. Designated hitter Joe Sigismondi (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) and third baseman Brett Tenuto (jr. Audubon, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) each crossed the plate one time.

Rutgers-Camden struck in the first inning on a RBI single to right by Hall. The Profs took the lead on Grimes' shot in the fifth. Perez put the Scarlet Raptors back in front for good with his bomb in the seventh. McElhatton added an insurance run with a groundout that plated Tenuto. Rowan loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth but Rutgers-Camden was able to hold on.
The two schools meet again in Glassboro on Friday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m.
