Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ – The Stockton University baseball team edged visiting Rowan University, 5-4 in a conference game on Sunday afternoon.
The game was rescheduled from April 17. The Ospreys have a 13-13 record and they are 5-9 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Profs are 22-8 overall with an 11-3 conference mark.
Right-hander Jason Fox (sr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) was the winning pitcher. He (2-0) went five innings and gave up two runs on four hits. Righty Blaze Gaspari (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) threw the final four innings for his second save. He scattered six hits and allowed two runs, one earned. Pitcher

Stockton center fielder Dan Sweeney (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) contributed with two hits (four at bats) and one RBI. Designated hitter Bryce DiPaola (so. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) drove in two runs and scored one. Shortstop Mark Jankowski (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and DiPaola each had a double. Jankowski crossed the plate twice while right fielder George Eisenhart (sr. Harrison Twp., NJ/Clearview Reg.) and second baseman Matt Mangarella (jr. Milltown, NJ/Spotswood) each scored one run. First baseman Erik Danser (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) chipped in with a RBI.
For Rowan, first baseman
Steven Todd (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) had two hits in four at bats, a double and two runs. Right fielder
Ryan Pavlik (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) produced two hits and knocked in a run. Shortstop
Evan Hughes (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) and second baseman
Mike Ras (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) registered one RBI apiece. Hughes also scored one run along with left fielder
Eric Oliver (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.).
The Profs got on the scoreboard with a sac fly by Ras in the second inning, which scored Todd. The Ospreys took the lead 2-1 in the bottom half. DiPaola recorded a RBI double and Sweeney tallied a RBI single. Stockton was ahead 4-1 after two runs in the fourth. Danser's base hit brought home Jankowski and Mangarella followed on DiPaola's sacrifice fly.
Both teams had one run in the fifth. Pavlik singled through the right side and Oliver touched the plate. Eisenhart scored for the Ospreys on a wild pitch. Rowan trailed by one after two runs in the seventh. Todd led off with a double and came home on a single by Hughes. Hughes had the final run when he scored on an error.
Next, Rowan travels to York College (PA) on April 22 for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
