Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team defeated Stockton University, 8-5 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest on Thursday.
The 28
th-ranked Profs are 20-7 overall and they are 9-2 in the conference. The Ospreys have an 11-12 record with a 3-8 NJAC mark. Right-hander
Johnny Dunn (jr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) went seven innings for the victory. He (2-2) allowed two runs on nine hits while fanning three. Righty Dylan Warburton (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) lasted 5.1 innings and took the loss (2-2).
Rowan recorded three triples, which was one shy of the school record. Catcher
Greg Myers (so. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) went two-for-three with one RBI and two runs scored. He hit two triples to tie the University mark, shared by five other players. The feat was last accomplished by right fielder
Ryan Pavlik (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) on March 16, 2014 versus FDU-Florham.

Nick Kreiger (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) had four hits (five at bats), a triple, three RBIs and one run scored. Second baseman
Mike Ras (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) went two-for-three and crossed the plate twice. Left fielder
Eric Oliver (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and shortstop
Evan Hughes (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) each drove in a run. Designated hitter
Casey Grimes (sr. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) and first baseman
Steven Todd (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) both hit a double and came home one time. Pavlik touched the plate once.
Catcher Andy Oliver (sr. Penns Grove, NJ/Penns Grove) was two-for-four with two RBIs and two runs scored for Stockton. Designated hitter Keith Tappert (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.), second baseman Matt Mangarella (jr. Millstown, NJ/Spotswood) and center fielder Dan Sweeney (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) had one RBI apiece. Right fielder George Eisenhart (sr. Harrison Twp., NJ/Clearview Reg.), left fielder Zach Gustites (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and Sweeney each scored a run.
The Profs tallied three runs in the second. Hughes scored Todd with a sacrifice fly before Myers smacked a RBI triple to center. Ras came home on the play then Myers scored on Kreiger's single. The Ospreys cut the deficit to one with a run in the fifth and sixth innings. Mangarella had a sac fly and Sweeney singled in Eisenhart. Kreiger's single in the bottom of the sixth plated Ras and made the score 4-2. Pavlik crossed the plate on an error in the seventh. Myers and Kreiger hit back-to-back triples to begin the eighth. Eric Oliver's fly out scored Kreiger and Grimes came home on an error. Andy Oliver brought in two runs with a triple in the ninth then scored on Tappert's out.
