Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team won its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game versus The College of New Jersey, 6-4 on Monday.
The Profs have a 19-7 record and they are 8-2 in the conference. The Lions are 12-11 overall with a 5-5 NJAC mark. Right-hander
Richie Suarez (sr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) picked up the win in relief. He (4-0) threw three innings and gave up one run and one hit while striking out three. Righty
Corey Feigenbaum (jr. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) went the final 1.1 innings for his fourth save. Right-handed pitcher Steven Volpe (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Eastern Reg.) lasted seven innings in the loss (1-2).
First baseman
Steven Todd (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) went two-for-three with a triple and two RBIs. Center fielder
Nick Kreiger (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) and designated hitter
Casey Grimes (sr. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) each recorded two hits and a double. Grimes drove in and scored a run while Kreiger crossed the plate twice. Catcher
Greg Myers (so. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) registered a double and scored one time. Left fielder
Eric Oliver (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and right fielder

TCNJ shortstop Anthony Cocuzza (sr. Absecon, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) and right fielder Patrick Roberts (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) both were two-for-five with a RBI. Cocuzza also scored a run. First baseman Josh Limon (sr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) had a double and scored one time. Left fielder Garen Turner (jr. Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) and catcher CJ Gearhart (so. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) totaled one RBI apiece. Center fielder John Rizzi (jr. Long Hill, NJ/Watchung Hills) crossed the plate twice.
The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on RBI singles by Roberts and Turner. Kreiger came home on a double play in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 2-1. Rowan took the lead in the third when Myers scored on Oliver's groundout and Grimes singled in Kreiger. Both teams tallied a run in the fourth. Gearhart's base hit plated Limon and Pavlik brought home Dunn with a single. TCNJ evened the score again in the fifth when Cocuzza singled to left and Rizzi scored. Todd gave the Profs the lead for good in the bottom half of the frame with a two-run triple that scored McMenamin and Grimes.
Rowan travels to Neumann University on Tuesday, April 14 for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
