Box Score 2 MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team took both games of its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) doubleheader at Montclair State University on Saturday afternoon. The Profs won the first game, 5-1 before earning a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.
Rowan improves to 18-7 overall with a 7-2 conference mark. The Red Hawks drop to 10-13 and they are 4-6 in the NJAC. Right-hander
Ryan Easterday (sr. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) hurled a complete game for the win in game one. He (3-1) allowed one unearned run on seven hits while fanning seven. Lefty Jonathan Torregroza (sr. Bound Brook, NJ/Immaculata) threw all nine innings in the loss. He (2-3) surrendered five runs, three earned on seven hits and struck out five.

Kevin McMenamin (sr. Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade), right fielder
Steven Todd (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) and center fielder
Nick Kreiger (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) all went two-for-four with a RBI and one run scored. Designated hitter
Stephen Petriello (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) had a double and drove in two runs while first baseman
Casey Grimes (sr. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) and catcher
Greg Myers (so. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) crossed the plate one time apiece.
Rowan tallied the first three runs of the contest in the fourth inning. With two outs, McMenamin, Todd and Kreiger recorded three consecutive singles. Kreiger's base hit brought home McMenamin. Petriello followed with a double to score Todd and Kreiger. Montclair State registered its lone run in the fifth when catcher Peter Pena (jr. Lodi, NJ/Colegio Juan Pablo Duarte (D.R.)) scored on an error. McMenamin and Todd hit back-to-back RBI singles in the eighth to end the scoring.
Left-handed pitcher
Ryan Sharkey (sr. Rutherford, NJ/St. Mary) went seven innings for the game two victory. He (5-0) allowed two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts. Righty
Corey Feigenbaum (jr. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) pitched the ninth for his third save. Right-hander Louis Pimpinella (sr. Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) suffered the loss (0-1) in relief.

Eric Oliver (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.), second baseman
Mike Ras (jr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown), Grimes and McMenamin each knocked in a run. Oliver came home twice while right fielder
Ryan Pavlik (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.), Kreiger and Petriello scored one time apiece.
First baseman Christopher Reynolds (sr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) went two-for-three with a double and two RBIs for the Red Hawks. Second baseman Matt Long (so. Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) had two hits (four at bats), a double and one run scored. Right fielder Ryan Long (so. Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) crossed the plate one time.
The Profs struck for two runs in the first. Grimes singled in Pavlik and Oliver came home on an error. Montclair State tied the score in the third when Reynolds smacked a two-run double. McMenamin had a RBI base hit in the sixth and Rowan led 3-2. The Profs tallied the final runs in the seventh. Ras hit a single to center and Kreiger scored. Petriello later crossed the plate on a groundout by Oliver.
