ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ –The Rowan University women's swim team dropped its conference meet at Ramapo College, 164-98 on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs are 7-4 overall and they finish 1-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). The Roadrunners improve to 6-2 with a 2-1 NJAC record.
Rowan had three individual victories.
Julia DelNero (jr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) won the 500 (5:33.72) and 1000 (11:20.19) freestyles.
Rikki Berk (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) had a first place in the 200 individual medley (2:20.15). She also finished third (2:39.87) in the 200 breaststroke. The Profs took first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.49). The relay included
Julie Sheehan (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.),
Gigi Russo (sr. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.),
Olivia Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) and
Polina Dineva (fr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.).
Russo captured second (1:03.42) in the 100 backstroke and she was third (26.12) in the 50 free.
Alyssa Schaefer (sr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) produced a runner-up time of 2:30.83 in the 200 butterfly and she had a third place (5:48.52) in the 500 freestyle.
Amanda Burke (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) touched the wall second (2:19.97) in the 200 backstroke. Rowan was third (4:16.86) in the 400 medley relay with
Ashley El Naggar (jr. Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo),
Sam Wahl (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood), Dineva and Sheehan.
Leanne Zaug (sr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) finished third (11:45.83) in the 1000 freestyle. Sheehan took third (57.16) in the 100 freestyle and Dineva was third (2:07.53) in the 200 free. Wojtowicz had the third best time (1:07.14) in the 100 butterfly.
Next, the Profs host York College (PA) for Senior Day on Saturday, February 7 at 1 p.m.
