Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated William Paterson University, 7-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Profs improve to 5-3 overall and they are 1-0 in the conference. The Pioneers are 4-5 overall with a 0-2 NJAC mark. Goalkeepers Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City), Kim Pyhel (so. Chatham, NJ/Chatham) and Suzy Mansour (fr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) combined for the shutout. Goalies Meg Davies (jr. Havertown, PA/Haverford) and Courtney Ross (fr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) each stopped six shots for William Paterson.
 
Midfielder Marisa Marini (jr. Carneys Point, NJ/Padua Academy (DE)) recorded two goals and two assists. Forward Courtney Aquino (so. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) tallied two goals and one assist. Forwards Sam Browne (jr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) and Amber Gundle (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) and back Meagan Costello (fr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) each hit the cage one time. Forward Jenna Pressler (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee), midfielders Karlee Henderson (sr. Elmer, NJ/Woodstown) and Jenna O'Sullivan (sr. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) and backs Erika Mecchella (sr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) and Marissa Moreno (fr. Erial, NJ/Camden Catholic) produced one assist apiece.
 
Rowan hosts Arcadia University for a non-conference game on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 p.m.
