Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The second ranked Salisbury University field hockey team won 8-2 at Rowan University on Wednesday night.
Forward Courtney Jantzen (jr. Cockeysville, MD/Dulaney) led the way with three goals. Forward Mallory Elliott (sr. Delmar, DE/Delmar) contributed with two goals and one assist. Forward Samantha Johnson (jr. Delmar, MD/Delmar) chipped in with two goals and midfielder Abbey Shobe (so. Pocomoke City, MD/Pocomoke) had one.
The Sea Gulls are undefeated with a 6-0 record while the Profs are 3-3 overall. For Rowan, goalie
Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) stopped 13 shots. Forward
Jenna Pressler (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and back
Samantha Potoczak (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) each scored a Profs' goal. Forwards
Sam Browne (jr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) and
Allison DiMenna (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) registered one assist apiece.
Salisbury started the game with four unanswered goals. Pressler put Rowan on the scoreboard at 20:48 with an assist from Browne . Shobe hit the cage with 3:12 left for a 5-1 advantage at the break. Johnson had an unassisted goal at 43:29. Potoczak deflected in a pass from DiMenna (49:17) for Rowan's second goal. Elliott had a penalty stroke (50:13) and Johnson produced an unassisted goal (66:30) to end the scoring.
Rowan is home again on Saturday, September 20 against Eastern University at 1 p.m.
