Erika Suhl (sr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) recorded three goals to lead the Rowan University women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Swarthmore College on Saturday evening.
The Profs (4-2) had 18 shots while the Garnet (3-1) took 14. Goalkeeper
Carleigh Trivino (so. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made six saves to earn the win. Goalies Reba Magier (jr. Saugus, CA/Harvard-Westlake) and Caela Long (jr. Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) each played one half. Magier had one save and Long stopped two shots.
Rowan led 1-0 at the intermission after Suhl's first goal at 20:29. Forward/midfielder Mele Johnson (so. San Diego, CA/La Jolla) tied the score (50:32) with a free kick from 20 yards out. Suhl headed in midfielder
Victoria Camera's (sr. Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton W.) cross a minute later to give the Profs a 2-1 advantage (51:35). Midfielder/forward
Jess Durnian (sr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) converted a penalty kick at 70:06 and Suhl finished the hat trick at 89:11.
