Box Score WASHINGTON, DC – The Rowan University field hockey team lost 2-1 at 16th ranked Catholic University on Saturday night.
 
Midfielder/forward Ellen Thorburn (jr. Haverford, PA/Agnes Irwin) scored the winning goal at 56:51.  Midfielder Maura Campbell (sr. Media, PA/Archbishop John Carroll) had the assist.
 
The Cardinals are undefeated with a 4-0 record while the Profs are 3-2 overall.  For Catholic, goalie Analisa Scott (so. Hershey, PA/Lower Dauphin) stopped five shots.  Prof goalie Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) registered three saves.  Rowan took 12 shots and Catholic had nine. 
 
The score was tied after the first half.  Forward Johanna James (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) put Rowan up 1-0 at 30:35 with an unassisted goal.  She tapped in a deflection off Scott's pads.  Midfielder/back Tara Portland (jr. Fredericksburg, VA/Colonia Forge) tied the score three minutes laters.  She hit the Profs' cage with a shot from the top of the circle on a pass from forward Colleen Harwood (sr. Rockville, MD/Magruder).
 
Next, Rowan hosts second ranked Salisbury University on Wednesday, September 17 at 6 p.m.
