Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out FDU-Florham, 4-0 on Wednesday night.
Forward
Jenna Pressler (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) led the way with two goals. Forwards
Sam Browne (jr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) and
Johanna James (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) each contributed with one goal. Forward
Allison DiMenna (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) and Browne had one assist apiece.
The Profs are 3-1 overall while the Devils have a 2-2 record. Goalie
Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) made three saves for her first collegiate shutout. Rowan compiled 17 shots while FDU-Florham took four. For the Devils, goalie Samantha Klimaszewski (so. Green Village, NJ/Madison) stopped five shots in the first half and goalie Amy Defnet (jr. Poolesville, MD/Poolesville) had four saves in the second.
Rowan had a 3-0 lead after the first period. Pressler started the scoring at 17:05 when she hit the right side of the cage. Browne knocked in a rebound after her initial shot was saved. Pressler deflected DiMenna's shot for the third goal. With 2:37 left, James registered the final goal with an assist from Browne.
Rowan travels to Catholic University on Saturday, September 13 for a 6 p.m. game.
