Women's Lacrosse Tops Rutgers-Camden, 19-4

Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team defeated Rutgers-Camden, 19-4 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Tuesday night.
 
The Profs are 11-4 overall and they finish the NJAC schedule with a 4-2 record. The Scarlet Raptors have a 5-10 mark and they are 0-5 in the conference.
 
Attack Becca Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) scored five times to lead Rowan. Defender Lauren Callaghan (sr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and attack Rachel Emerson (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) each added three goals. Midfielder Cat Luick (so. Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) produced two goals and one assist. Attack Marissa Micciche (sr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) totaled one goal and two assists.
 
Midfielders Brittany Bollendorf (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Jess Casterline (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), attack Rachel Hofbauer (fr. Totowa, NJ/Wayne Valley) and defenders Jess Kotelnicki (sr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.) and Giselle Cortes (fr. Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) scored one goal apiece. Defender Shana O'Donnell (sr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) and attack Chelsey Taggart (so. Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) each registered one assist.
 
Rowan goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) recorded four saves. Rutgers-Camden goalkeeper Michelle Boyd (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) had four stops. The Profs had 31 shots and 20 ground balls. The Scarlet Raptors recorded 10 shots and collected 14 ground balls.
 
For Rutgers-Camden, midfielder Holly Cusick (so. North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Reg.) scored twice. Attack Krystal Valianti (so. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) and midfielder Dorothy Westlake (jr. Lumberton, NJ/Holy Cross) tallied one goal apiece.
 
Rowan led 6-0 with 17:15 to play in the first half. Emerson and Wood each scored twice while Micciche and Bollendorf tallied one goal apiece. Cusick made the score 6-1 (12:57). The Profs then ended the period with seven straight goals for a 13-1 lead. Wood recorded two goals, while Cortes, Casterline, Luick, Callaghan and Hofbauer each registered one.
 
Cusick scored with 27:39 on the clock in the second half. Rowan produced the next three goals for a 16-2 advantage (43:27). Callaghan scored twice and Emerson once. Westlake and Valianti tallied back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to 16-4 (48:52). The Profs recorded the final three goals of the game. Kotelnicki, Wood and Luick each had one.
 
Rowan travels to Eastern University for the regular season finale on Thursday, April 24 at 4 p.m.
