Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College, 20-3 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon.
Attack Becca Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) scored seven goals, including the 181
st of her career, breaking the University goal scoring record. The mark was previously held by Deirdre Stanton (1993-96). Wood also recorded one assist.
Midfielder Brittany Bollendorf (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) tallied six goals and one assist. Midfielder Cat Luick (so. Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) totaled two goals. Attack Rachel Emerson (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and defenders Giselle Cortes (fr. Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken), Jess Kotelnicki (sr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.), Lauren Callaghan (sr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and Shana O'Donnell (sr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) produced one goal apiece. Midfielder Kelly O'Brien (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and Emerson each had two assists, while Cortes had one.
Attack Lindsay Hughes (so. Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley) scored twice for Ramapo. Defender/midfielder Katie Duca (fr. West Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) had one goal.
The Profs are 10-4 overall and they have a NJAC record of 3-2. The Roadrunners have a 4-7 mark and are 1-3 in the conference. Rowan goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) recorded four saves. Ramapo goalkeeper Reagan Vler (jr. Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) had 23 stops. The Profs totaled 54 shots and 31 ground balls. The Roadrunners tallied eight shots and collected 19 ground balls.
Bollendorf started the scoring at the 2:02 mark. Duca tied the game with 26:08 on the clock. The Profs scored the next four goals for a 5-1 lead (6:38). Wood had three goals and Bollendorf one. Hughes cut the deficit to 5-2 (7:29). Rowan then recorded seven consecutive goals for a 12-2 advantage (14:10). Wood scored three times, Bollendorf twice, while Luick and Callaghan had one apiece. Hughes hit the back net (22:25), but the Profs produced the final three goals of the half for a 15-3 lead at the break. Luick, Wood and Bollendorf each had one goal.
Rowan scored five goals in the second half. Bollendorf (34:24), Emerson (35:31), O'Donnell (47:02), Cortes (49:57) and Kotelnicki (56:22) had one apiece.
Rowan hosts Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.
