Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – Attack Becca Wood scored seven goals to lead the Rowan University women's lacrosse team over Cabrini College, 12-5 on Thursday evening.
Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) has 42 goals on the season. Midfielder Cat Luick (so. Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) contributed with two goals. Attacks Marissa Micciche (sr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Rachel Emerson (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and midfielder Brittney Bollendorf (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) each hit the net one time.
Midfielder Jamie Blondina (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) and attack Dani Hubbs (fr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) had one assist apiece. Defender Lauren Callaghan (sr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) totaled nine draw controls.
Rowan and Cabrini both have an overall record of 9-4. The Profs' goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made eight saves. For the Cavaliers, goalie Janel Folkomer (sr. Springfield, PA/Springfield (Delco)) stopped 13 shots.
Attack/midfielder Melissa Scanzano (jr. Havertown, PA/Haverford) produced three goals for Cabrini. Attack/midfielder Lacie Doubet (jr. Swarthmore, PA/Ridley) and midfielder Jess Breuning (fr. Rockledge, PA/St. Hubert) both scored one time.
Rowan started the game with three straight goals in a span of 7:46. Wood and Bollendorf each scored with a free position shot. Luick had the third goal with a pass from Blondina. Scanzano put Cabrini on the scoreboard at 8:39. The Profs had a 5-1 advantage with 7:43 remaining after goals by Micciche and Wood. Scanzano had a free position goal (25:31), which ended the first half scoring. Rowan was ahead 5-2 at the intermission.
In the second period, the Profs posted five unanswered goals to lead 10-2 at 35:33. Wood tallied three while Emerson and Luick each had one. Doubet scored with 13:59 left. Wood's sixth and seventh goals came at 49:32 and 51:48 respectively. Rowan led 12-3. Scanzano and Breuning followed with one goal apiece to end the game.
