Women's Lacrosse Defeats Richard Stockton College, 16-5

Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team defeated Richard Stockton College, 16-5 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Tuesday night.
 
Midfielder Jamie Blondina (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) led the way with six goals.  Attack Becca Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) contributed with four goals while attack Rachel Hofbauer (fr. Totowa, NJ/Wayne Valley) added two. 
 
Midfielders Kelly O'Brien (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and Brittany Bollendorf (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and attacks Marissa Micciche (sr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Rachel Emerson (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) all hit the net one time.  O'Brien also produced two assists and collected seven ground balls.  Wood and Hofbauer registered one assist apiece.
 
The Profs are 8-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.  The Ospreys have a 9-4 record with a 1-3 NJAC mark.  Attack Nicole Miller (jr. Southampton, NJ/Seneca) and midfielder Carlie Flake (sr. Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) each scored two goals while midfielder Colleen Knight (jr. Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) had one.
 
Rowan totaled 27 shots and Stockton took 18.  Profs' goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made eight saves.  For the Ospreys, goalie Mary Stornes (so. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) turned away six shots in 40:46.  Rianna Martorano (fr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) played 19:14 and had two saves.
 
Rowan started the game with seven straight goals in 16:42.  Blondina scored four times while O'Brien, Bollendorf and Micciche all tallied one goal.  Flake put Stockton on the scoreboard at 17:06.  The Profs followed with four unanswered goals to lead 11-1 with 6:47 remaining in the half.  Wood had the first two followed by Hofbauer and Blondina with one apiece.  Miller had the Ospreys' second goal at 25:17.  Blondina ended the period with a free position goal and a 12-2 advantage.
 
In the second stanza, Wood and Miller exchanged goals.  Emerson, Wood and Hofbauer each found the net one time and the Profs were ahead 16-3 at 48:54.  The Ospreys ended the game with goals by Knight (59:14) and Flake (59:26). 

Next, Rowan is at home against Cabrini College on Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
