Women's Lacrosse Falls To Undefeated Montclair State University, 14-11

Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team lost to Montclair State University, 14-11 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.
 
Midfielder Kelly Schoneveld (sr. Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) led the Red Hawks with five goals and one assist.  Attack Tierney Conlon (jr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) contributed with three goals and two assists.  Midfielders Jenna Bussiere (jr. Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) and Francesca Verrone (fr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) each chipped in with two goals. Attacks Aviana Paraggio (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Kara Crampton (so. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) added one goal apiece.
 
The Red Hawks are undefeated with a 13-0 record and they are 3-0 the conference.  The Profs have a 7-4 record with a 1-2 NJAC mark.  Montclair State goalie Alexandra Tepper (so. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) made 12 saves.  Rowan goalie Lindsay Barrie (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) stopped 13 shots.
 
Midfielder Cat Luick (so. Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) was Rowan's top scorer with four goals.  Midfielder Jamie Blondina (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) collected two goals and three assists.  Attack Rachel Hofbauer (fr. Totowa, NJ/Wayne Valley) scored twice.  Midfielder Kelly O'Brien (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and attacks Marissa Micciche (sr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Rachel Emerson (so. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) each hit the net one time.   Attack Becca Wood (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) and O'Brien both registered two assists.
 
Blondina put the Profs on the scoreboard first at the 50-second mark.  Montclair State answered with four straight goals in a span of 11:13.  Schoneveld scored twice while Conlon and Paraggio each had one goal.  The two teams exchanged goals two times then the Red Hawks had three more for a 9-3 advantage with 3:19 left in the half.  Verrone produced two goals and Schoneveld and Crampton had one apiece.  Hofbauer notched the last goal (27:38) before the break and Rowan trailed 9-4.
 
O'Brien cut the deficit to four (9-5) at the 33 minute mark with an assist from Blondina.  Montclair State led 11-5 after goals from Bussiere (33:15) and Conlon (34:22).  Rowan pulled within two (11-9) at 44:28.  Luick, Micciche, Hofbauer and Emerson all found the net one time.  Conlon (48:43) and Luick (50:22) each scored one goal and the Red Hawks were still ahead by two (12-10).  Bussiere and Schoneveld made the score 14-10 with back-to-back goals.  Blondina registered the final goal of the game with 4:15 left.   
 
Rowan travels to Richard Stockton College on Tuesday, April 15 for a 7 p.m. conference game.
