ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming and diving team defeated William Paterson University, 163-74 on Wednesday night.
The Profs remain unbeaten with an overall record of 4-0 and the Pioneers have a 3-1 mark. It was the first conference meet of the season for both squads. The team of
Luke Wister (so. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights),
Tyler Coe (jr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Nick Marte (fr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and
Patrick Myers (jr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:40.06. In the 200 freestyle relay,
John Shellem (fr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Coe,
Kyle Surette (jr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) and
Jesse Novak (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) finished first (1:28.35).
The Profs took first place in all 11 individual events.
Zac Wister (sr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) had a win (10:16.15) in the 1000 freestyle. Novak had a victory with a time of 1:49.46 in the 200 freestyle. The 50 freestyle saw
Paul Long (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) come in first (22.87).
Colin Fisher (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) finished first (2:02.10) in the 200 individual medley (IM) and the 100 backstroke (55.90). Myers had a first place in the 100 butterfly (55.24) and the 500 freestyle (4:59.03). Shellem won the 100 freestyle in a time of 49.29.
Brian Suatengco (fr. Toms River, NJ/Donovan Catholic) placed first (1:00.62) in the 100 breaststroke.
In the one-meter diving, Rowan's
John Morris (so. Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) finished first with 270.23 points.
Killian O'Gorman (jr. Short Hills, NJ/Milburn) placed second (197.40) and William Paterson's Gennaro Sirianni (jr. North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) was third (155.40).
On the three-meter board, Morris won with 243.83 points. O'Gorman was second (193.35) and Sirianni, third (173.03).
Eric Emerson (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) came in second (10:28.71) and
Connor Buck (jr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.), third (10:43.71) in the 1000 freestyle.
Steven Buzby (so. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) finished second (1:49.80) in the 200 freestyle.
Luke Wister had a second place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.14. Coe was second (2:03.88) in the 200 IM. Marte had a second place (50.38) and Surette was third (50.96) in the 100 freestyle.
For William Paterson, Eric Tracey (jr. Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Reg.) finished third (23.52) in the 50 freestyle. Anthony Taboadela (fr. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) had a second place (56.31) in the 100 backstroke and a third place (2:08.04) in the 200 IM. Nick Cowie (so. Newton, NJ/Newton) and Bobby Boyton (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) finished second (56.63) and third (1:00.64) respectively in the 100 butterfly. Nicolai Robinson (jr. Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) took second (5:32.68) in the 500 freestyle and Donado Dervishi (jr. Garfield, NJ/Garfield) had a second place (1:06.43) in the 100 breaststroke.
Rowan travels to St. Francis College (NY) on Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m.
