Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated Richard Stockton College, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs are 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Rowan has a six-game win streak. The Ospreys have a 5-7 record and a 2-2 NJAC mark.
Forward
Johanna James (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) scored two goals while forward
Sam Browne (jr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) and midfielder
Karlee Henderson (sr. Elmer, NJ/Woodstown) each had one. Forward
Kellie Campbell (sr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) chipped in with an assist.
Rowan totaled 16 shots while Richard Stockton took five. Goalie
Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) made three saves for her third shutout. For the Ospreys, goalie Liz Stankiewicz (sr. Freehold Twp., NJ/Freehold Twp.) played 8:09 and had two saves. Goalie Sara Winters (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) stopped six shots in 61:51.
The Profs scored their first three goals in less than 10 minutes. James started the scoring at 2:22. She hit the left side of the cage after she brought the ball into the circle. Her second goal was from the right side (6:05). Browne had the third goal (8:08) after Campbell launched the ball into the circle. Henderson scored the final goal at 24:42. Her shot deflected off a defender's stick.
Rowan plays at home against Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, October 15 at 7 p.m.
