GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's basketball team will hold "Play 4Kay" at its game on Saturday, February 1. The Profs play conference opponent William Paterson University at 3 p.m.
The proceeds raised will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Play 4Kay initiative (formerly known as WBCA Pink Zone) is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2.5 million to support women's cancer research.
Fans are encouraged to show their support by wearing pink to the game. There will be a drawing for various items – a pink bike, Sixers tickets, Rowan athletic gear and more. Donations can also be made at the Rowan team page –

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was founded in 2007 in partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research, to raise money in the fight against women's cancers. The late Kay Yow was the former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach and a past president of the WBCA. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and later passed away on January 24, 2009 after her third bout with the disease.
The 2014 Play 4Kay initiative culminates with ESPN's Play 4Kay coverage on February 16 and 17. For more information about the Kay Yow Cancer Fund go to:
