Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ –The Rowan University men's basketball team lost at Richard Stockton College, 88-59 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday night.
The Ospreys are 12-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference. The Profs have a 7-8 record with a 2-6 NJAC mark. Stockton was led by guard James Williams (jr. Englewood, NJ/Englewood) with 21 points off the bench. Forward Josh Blamon (jr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) scored 19 points and guard Rich Suhr (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) followed with 17. Forward Nnamdi Usuwa (sr. Avenel, NJ/Colonia) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
For Rowan, guard Rich McNamara (sr. Southampton, NJ/Seneca) collected 15 points and six boards. Guard Tim McDaniels (sr. Mount Holly, NJ/Lenape) produced 13 points while guards Kris O'Connor (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Paul VI) and Phil Jackson (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) contributed with 11 and 10 points respectively. Guard Jason Rosenberg (sr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) registered seven assists.
The Profs started the game with eight straight points in 2:40. McDaniels made two baskets while O'Connor and McNamara each had one. McNamara hit a three-pointer to lead 11-3 at 16:53. Guard Jason Sofman's (sr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) layup put Rowan up 15-8 with 12:49 remaining. Usuwa cut the deficit to three points (15-12) at 12:01 with a basket. Jackson had a layup at 8:24 and Rowan was ahead 26-20. Blamon made a layup and foul shot (7:48), Usuwa had a basket (6:37) and Stockton trailed by one (26-25). Guard Matt Whitworth (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) sank a three (5:33) and the Profs led by five points (32-27). The Ospreys ended the half with 15 unanswered points and a 10-point advantage (42-32) at the break.
In the second stanza, Stockton was ahead 42-37 at 19:01. The Ospreys built a 17-point lead (57-40) with a 15-3 run in 3:58. Suhr scored 10 of the 17 points. Williams' three-pointer made the score 62-43 with 14:03 left. Blamon nailed two threes (7:45, 6:37) and Suhr had one (7:02) in between for a 28 point advantage (77-49). The Ospreys' biggest lead was 33 points, 84-51 at 3:15 and 86-53 at 1:59.
