Box Score EWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey field hockey team came from behind to win 4-3 over Rowan University on Saturday evening.
The Lions, ranked ninth in the nation, are 12-2-overall and 4-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Profs are 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Rowan was ahead 3-2 after the first half. Back Kerry Curran (so. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) scored the tying goal at 43:25 with an assist from midfielder Victoria Martin (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson). Forward Lindsey Hatch (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) recorded the game-winner at 64:09 on a pass from forward Erin Healey (jr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan).
The Lions got on the scoreboard first at 14:04 with an unassisted goal by midfielder Jaclyn Douglas (fr. Malvern, PA/Great Valley). Forward Kellie Campbell (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) tied the score, 27 seconds later. Midfielder Marisa Marini (so. Wilmington, DE/Padua Academy) assisted on the goal.
Rowan went up 3-1 with goals by forwards Jenna Pressler (fr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) (18:06) and Johanna James (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) (26:16). Forward Amy McKeever (fr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) registered an assist on Pressler's goal.
Profs' goalie Steph Colombo (sr. Moorestown, NJ/Camden Catholic) stopped 11 shots. The Lions' goalie Amanda Krause (jr. Richboro, PA/Council Rock N.) had four saves.
