GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College, 19-6 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.

The Profs improve to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference while the Roadrunners drop to 5-9 and 1-4 in the NJAC. Rowan was guided by midfielder Michelle Lubrano (sr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross) with five goals. Attack Becca Wood (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) compiled four goals and one assist. Midfielder Jamie Blondina (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) recorded two goals and three assists.

Attack Vicky Sucharski (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinniminson) contributed with three goals and two assists. Defender Lauren Callaghan (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) scored two goals and attack Caitlin Ravel (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) hit the net one time. Attacks Julia Boccanfuso (fr. Oradell, NJ/River Dell Reg.) and Colleen Nauss (so. Hilltop, NJ/Paul VI) each added one goal. Attack Marissa Micciche (so. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) had one assist.

Midfielder Amanda Barretta (sr. Roseland, NJ/West Essex) led the Roadrunners with four goals and one assist. Attacks Colleen Steel (sr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) and Taylor Jade Nicholas (fr. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) each scored once. Defender Itati Aburto (fr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) registered one assist.

Rowan totaled 52 shots while Ramapo had 12. In the first half, Profs’ goalie Kerry Pehnke (sr. W. Windsor, NJ/W. Windsor-Plainsboro N.) turned away two shots. Goalie Lindsay Barrie (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected two saves in the second stanza. For Ramapo, goalie Reagan Vier (fr. Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) amassed 14 saves.

At halftime, the Profs were ahead 13-5 over the Roadrunners. Lubrano scored four times while Wood added three goals. Callaghan and Sucharski each compiled two goals. Ravel and Blondina had one goal apiece. Barretta collected Ramapo’s first three goals of the game. Nicholas and Steel both hit the net one time.

In the second half, Sucharski, Blondina and Wood scored the first three goals for Rowan. Barretta recorded Ramapo’s lone goal. Lubrano, Boccanfuso and Nauss each tallied one goal to end the game.

Rowan will host Catholic University in a nonconference game on Wednesday, April 25 at 6 p.m.
