GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team shut out Rutgers-Camden, 19-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.

The Profs improve to 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.  The Scarlet Raptors have a 4-7 record with a 0-4 NJAC mark.  Attack Becca Wood (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) led Rowan with four goals and one assist.  Midfielder Jamie Blondina (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) registered three goals and two assists.  Midfielder Michelle Lubrano (sr. Delanco, NJ/Holy Cross), defender Lauren Callaghan (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) and attack Ellen Brigham (jr. Oakton, VA/Oakton) all scored twice. 

Midfielder Shannon O’Brien (jr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and attacks Marissa Micciche (so. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Caitlin Ravel (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected one goal and one assist apiece.  Attacks Colleen Nauss (so. Hilltop, NJ/Paul VI) and Julia Boccanfuso (fr. Oradell, NJ/River Dell Reg.) and defender Kate Van Voorst (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) each contributed with one goal.  Attack Vicky Sucharski (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) dished one assist.

Rowan took 47 shots and Rutgers-Camden had five.  Profs’ goalie Lindsay Barrie (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made one save in the first half.  Goalie Kerry Pehnke (sr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) stopped three shots in the second period.  Scarlet Raptors’ goalie Rachel Powell (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) turned away 14 shots.

The Profs were ahead, 14-0 after the first stanza.  Wood compiled four goals.  Callaghan, Blondina, Brigham and Lubrano all hit the net twice.  Micciche and Ravel added one goal apiece.  In the second half, O’Brien, Van Voorst, Boccanfuso, Nauss and Blondina each recorded one goal.

Rowan hosts Ramapo College in a NJAC game on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
