GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Rachael Dix scored three goals to lead the Rowan University field hockey team over Richard Stockton College, 6-0 on Tuesday night.

The Profs improve to 3-2 overall and the Ospreys have a 3-2 mark. It was the first conference game of the season for both teams.

Back Amy McKeever (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) contributed with two goals and forward Julie Cairone (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) added one. Forward Brittany Phillips (sr. Williamstown, NJ/West Deptford) and midfielder Ashley Adams (sr. Erial, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) each collected one assist.

For Richard Stockton, goalie Liz Stankiewicz (fr. Freehold Twp., NJ/Freehold Twp.) turned away 10 shots. Goalie Jen Goldberg (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) made one save for the shutout.

Dix (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) started the scoring at 5:34 with a blasting shot to the left side of the cage. McKeever tapped in a short pass from Phillips at 15:47. The third goal was by McKeever (24:10) when she knocked in a rebound.

In the second half, Cairone’s goal came on a penalty stroke at 42:05. Dix followed with goals at 56:16 and 68:07. She chipped in a loose ball for her second goal. The third one was a shot just inside the circle on a pass from Adams.

Rowan is home again on Saturday, September 17 against Catholic University at 1 p.m.
